About Mrs. Way
Hi there!
I am Mrs. Way and I am the elementary school counselor at Larry J. Macaluso Elementary for Kindergarten (Mrs. Guth and Mrs. Smith), 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades. This is my 8th year within the district and my previous experience was working with children and adolescents in outpatient and residential settings.
I attended San Francisco State University for my undergraduate degree and Messiah University for my Masters in School Counseling. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). As a school counselor, I enjoy working with students individually, within small group, and whole classroom lessons. Topics we will work on throughout the year include conflict resolution, bully prevention, Internet Safety, friendship skills, self-esteem, and career. Small group topics may include social skills, grief and loss, stress and anxiety, and anger management. Feel free to reach out with any concerns or questions!
On a personal note, I live on a flower farm, Spring Valley Farm, with my family and many, many animals. When I am not at school, I love being outdoors, especially with my dogs Hazel and Hobbes.
