About Mrs. Snyder
Mrs. Michelle Snyder is the Elementary School Counselor at Larry J. Macaluso Elementary for Kindergarten, First, Third, and Fifth grades. This is Mrs. Snyder's 21st year within the district. She attended Shippensburg University where she received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education Degrees. Mrs. Snyder is also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). As the school counselor, Mrs. Snyder works with students individually, within small group, and during whole classroom lessons. Topics discussed in lessons throughout the year include conflict resolution, bully prevention, friendship skills, self-esteem, and career. Small group topics may include social skills, grief and loss, stress and anxiety, and anger management. Parents, students, and teachers may refer concerns to Mrs. Snyder as needed.
Mrs. Snyder is the coach for the building's Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports or PBIS team. This team is comprised of the building principal, teachers, and support staff. We create positive ways to implement a welcoming and positive atmosphere as well as a supportive culture within the building.
Mrs. Snyder is also an advisor to our 6th grade morning announcers. She assists them with creating the morning slides and updating the news every morning.
Mrs. Snyder is married with 3 children. She enjoys biking, running, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Snyder is looking forward to another great year at LJM!
