Mr. Chris Hewitt - Assistant Principa
Hello! My name is Chris Hewitt, and I am thrilled to introduce myself to you as the new assistant principal of Larry J. Macaluso Elementary School for the ‘25-’26 school year.
I am a York County native, graduating from Central York High School. I earned my bachelor's degree from Kutztown University with a degree in secondary education, certified to teach biology and general science. For the past 25 years, my career in education has been a rewarding journey spanning both middle and high school settings. I began teaching at York County School of Technology, where I spent eight years instructing various science classes. I spent the next 14 years in a position that I loved, teaching seventh-grade life science at Dallastown Area Middle School. My transition into administration began three years ago here in Red Lion, where I've served as an assistant principal at the senior high.
In my free time I enjoy pizza and movie nights, playing games and putting together puzzles, and spending time in nature with my two children, Cooper and Vincenza, and my wife, Sue. I love playing sports; especially pickleball, ping pong and volleyball, and spending time vacationing on the beach with my family where I spend most of the days creating sand sculptures.
My goal as an administrator is to support teachers and students, striving to make all members of our school feel included, valued and respected.
